I went to see the Bruno movie at the cinema this weekend. Rubbish. No boxing at all, and the star looked nothing like dear old Frank. Hardly a tribute to one of our greatest sporting legends.
I note from the newspaper yesterday that Mr Kim is having a film made about him. Is Mr Kim available for comment on this? Will it tell the story of his first round of golf in which he stroked 11 holes in one and came in at 38 under? What other amazing feats will it feature, I wonder? His first moonwalk, 40 years ago, just beating Neil Armstrong? We need to know.

Life After Beachcombers
• Bruno Gerussi ('Nick') continued to act on stage and film and was enjoying travel and golf when he suddenly passed away on November 21st, 1995. He was 67 years-of-age.
• Robert Clothier ('Relic') had a stroke in 1996 and was confined to a wheelchair, but continued acting and sculpting up until his death in February 1999, age 77.
• Rae Brown ('Molly') passed away in 2000 in her late 80s.
• Pat John ('Jesse') is now a fisherman who also has a beachcombing license for clams and shell fish on the coast just north of Gibson’s Landing.
• After leaving the series Bob Park ('Hughie') worked in northern Alberta then, in the ‘90s, returned to the Lower Mainland and is now the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the B.C. Lions football team.
• After nine years as a Los Angeles-based actor Dionne Luther ('Pat') has recently returned to British Columbia to continue his career in Canada.
• Even 8 years after the series was cancelled the show maintained its unique place in the Canadian television landscape; a 1998 TV Guide website audience survey placed The Beachcombers as the most popular CBC TV Show of All Time.
Dawn - did you *really* like the Beachcombers, then? ;) I remember watching the original. They did a remake of it, in later years that just didn't seem to make it.
I'm pretty sure Bruno Gerusi also had a cooking show on CBC or something. I can see that big gold medalion on his hairy chest right now.

You can't say you weren't warned. I specifically said over at my place last Thursday - 'don't go, girlfriends.'
You can't get away from the advertising for this movie - I think the McD0nalds kids meal Bruno toy is going too far.
I expected it to be about Bruno Martelli, a character on the TV series "Fame (1982 TV series)" played by Lee Curreri. What a rip-off!
I expected it was in homage to the Uxbridge English Dictionary.
It in fact means "someone denied a cup of tea".
I thought it was an hommage to Bruno Gerusi. Ultimate Beachcombing or something.

At least it wasn't about Carla Bruni!
Or Bruno Tonioli

I have to go wash my eyes now. Tra la!
Nah. That was from the first hit on Google. I don't even remember the "New" Beachcombers and was surprised to see reference to it.
I think you're right about the cooking show. At least it wasn't Relic.
Pins in my eyes!
Dawn, you made me do a LOL. Excuse me, I have some pins to remove...
